Founded in 2018 G.C, Sonnenland International school was established to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and high-quality early learning experience for children in Ethiopia. At Sonnenland International school, education is rooted in a balanced, play-based approach inspired by the Cambridge curriculum and enriched with Montessori principles. What curriculum do you follow?

Do you accept children with special needs?
Yes! We are an inclusive preschool and offer individualized learning plans, sensory tools, and additional support to meet every child’s needs.
What ages do you accept?
We accept children from Nursery to Prep level, typically between ages 2 to 6.
What languages are taught?
Our main language of instruction is English, but we also teach Amharic as part of the curriculum.
How do you assess student progress?
Students are assessed regularly based on Cambridge objectives, and formal progress reports are sent home twice a year. We also hold parent-teacher meetings after each report.
What are your school hours?
School starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:00 PM, with pickup from 3:00 to 3:30 PM.
Do you provide meals or should we pack lunch?
Parents are encouraged to pack healthy snacks and lunch. Students should bring clearly labeled lunchboxes and water bottles.
How do you ensure student safety?
We maintain strict drop-off and pickup procedures, provide staff supervision throughout the day, and issue ID cards for authorized guardians.
What’s the policy on sick children?
Children should only return to school after full recovery. We also require emergency contact details and written permission for any medication administration.
